Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic

Lehigh Anthracite Coal LLC

Lehigh Anthracite is hiring Heavy Equipment Field Mechanics to support our anthracite surface mining operations in Schuylkill and Carbon Counties. This is steady, year-round field work maintaining active surface mines and a preparation plant. Mechanics work either a straight day shift or straight night shift, with no rotating schedules.

If you want real field troubleshooting, consistent schedules, and a company that supports mechanics with spare equipment and internal resources, this is the job. If you’re the type who gets the job done without needing micromanagement, you’ll fit in here.

WHY WORK HERE

  • Privately owned company with diversified businesses — stable and resilient through market cycles
  • Maintenance operates on straight shifts (days or nights), not rotating schedules
  • Field mechanics are supported by spare equipment at all sites, allowing proper repairs instead of rushed fixes
  • In-house support including lube technicians and additional mechanics
  • No overnight travel — home daily
  • Paid weekly with a full benefits package
  • Clear tiered progression within the maintenance department

In short — we treat our mechanics like professionals, not like numbers on a roster.
