Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems on construction equipment such as excavators, cranes, loaders, pumps, and compressors.
• Diagnose hydraulic faults using pressure gauges, flow meters, and other testing tools to identify leaks, worn components, or performance issues.
• Repair or replace defective hydraulic pumps, cylinders, motors, valves, hoses, and fittings.
• Dismantle and reassemble hydraulic units, ensuring all components are cleaned, tested, and aligned as per manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Read and interpret hydraulic circuit diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
• Ensure all hydraulic repairs and services comply with safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage logs, and maintenance reports.
• Coordinate with the maintenance and operations teams to schedule repairs efficiently and reduce equipment downtime.
• Support in training operators and technicians on proper handling and care of hydraulic systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in hydraulic maintenance and repair (preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry).
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Proficient in using hydraulic testing tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced site environment.
• Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication, and preventive maintenance practices is an added advantage.
