Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are a family owned and operated business seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diesel engine repair and a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation. This role involves traveling to the job site, diagnosing and repairing various diesel engines and related components, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace components such as suspension, undercarriage, hydraulics, and other essential parts.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed for diagnosing and testing repairs
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
• Collaborate with supervisor to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnoses and repair techniques and heavy equipment operation.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and schematics.
• Ability to operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Valid driver's license.
