Diesel Mechanic

DIESEL MECHANIC

Salary: $28.37 per hour

2nd shift 2pm -1030pm or 3rd shift 10pm-6am

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel tractors.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems.
• Repair any equipment problems and answer drivers’ telephone request for assistance with equipment failure while out on the road.
• Maintain and repair all equipment to include engine, starting and charging, electrical, body, wheels, brakes, suspension and interior.
• Have own tools
• Follow company procedures and ensure a safe work environment.
• Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy duty tractor/ trailer repair.
• State inspection certification a plus.
• Valid driver’s license - CDL Preferred.
• Certification in the use of refrigerants and recycling equipment a big plus
• Some mechanics must have the ability to drive a repair vehicle off the premises to perform emergency repairs on the road.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and on call as needed.
