Diesel Mechanic

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment. In this role, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines and related machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including trucks, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, all while contributing to the smooth operation of our fleet and industrial assets. Your skills will directly impact operational efficiency and safety standards across our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines and heavy equipment using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems.
  • Execute routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and engine tune-ups.
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools.
  • Repair and assemble various machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm equipment following manufacturer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in a dealership or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
  • Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, and suspension components.
  • Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and perform heavy lifting safely.
  • Experience with automotive repair including brake repair, tire service, alignment procedures, shocks & struts replacement.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills for diagnostics and repairs.
  • Valid certification or licensing related to vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment service is preferred but not mandatory. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.26 per hour
