Diesel Mechanic

Job Title: Diesel Mechanic – Drill Rigs & Support Equipment

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of drill rigs and support equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently in demanding field conditions. The ideal candidate has strong experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and is comfortable working both in-shop and in remote job site environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel-powered equipment, including drill rigs (Sandvik, Foremost, Bauer, Versa).
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain and repair support equipment such as light-duty pickups, light plants, water trucks, and fuel trucks.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document all work performed.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards before returning to service.
  • Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs in remote or challenging environments.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to identify equipment issues and improve reliability.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with drill rigs and heavy equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred. NO EXCEPTIONS DO NOT APPLY UNLESS IT IS VALID.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours, including rotations or remote assignments.

Work Environment:

  • May require travel to remote job sites and rotational schedules

Note:
This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency and safety across all drilling and support operations. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 80+ hours. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Pay: $45.00 - $65.00 per hour
