HGV Mechanics (Heavy Goods Vehicle)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable HGV Mechanic to join their team in Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), ensuring all vehicles remain safe, compliant, and roadworthy.

This opportunity is ideal for skilled mechanics who hold a valid HGV license and are open to meeting UK immigration and language requirements where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools
• Conduct inspections in line with DVSA standards
• Ensure all work meets safety regulations and high-quality standards
• Maintain accurate service, repair, and maintenance records
• Carry out pre-MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing
• Provide roadside assistance and respond to breakdowns when required

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar role
• Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Driving Licence
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and vehicle electrical systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

International Candidate Requirements

• Must have, or be willing to obtain, a UKVI IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)
• Willingness to relocate to Northern Ireland and comply with UK visa and immigration requirements

Desirable Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Experience working with a variety of HGV makes and models
• Previous experience preparing vehicles for MOT testing

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: AED13,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
