Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet and machinery operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair needs.
  • Service and repair brake systems, air brakes, wheel alignments, tire replacements, and wheel balancing for various vehicles including tractor-trailers and industrial equipment.
  • Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow safety protocols during all repair procedures.
  • Operate heavy equipment safely when necessary for testing or troubleshooting purposes while adhering to safety standards.
  • Assist with assembly or disassembly of complex machinery components during repairs or upgrades.

Requirements

  • Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance; dealership experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across diverse systems including transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), electrical systems, and suspension components.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues.
  • Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized maintenance tools effectively.
  • Knowledge of OEM parts specifications and familiarity with automotive diagnostics software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions.
