Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up on repairs

· Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck and fleet equipment including but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air Conditioning Systems, Fan Clutches, Engine Electronics, Power Steering Systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.

· Use basic hand tools, precision instruments, as well as power tools, welding equipment, and jacks

· Accurately complete DOT forms and other forms of documentation in a timely fashion

· Work with a high degree of independence

· Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times

· Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed

Qualifications:

· 3+ years Diesel Mechanic Experience

· Valid Driver’s License required

· CDL-A preferred but not required

· State Inspection License required

· Demonstrate ability to work independently, multi-task and apply initiative

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent verbal communication skills

· Understand and implement instructions, guidelines, and pertinent information necessary to complete daily tasks and assignments

· Computer proficient and experience with a maintenance management system (i.e. UpKeep)

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

· Must be able to move, sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs with regularity and up to 100lbs on occasion.

· Requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and being regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, hot/cold and while moving equipment

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
