Job Summary
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of heavy-duty diesel engines and construction machinery. The role includes diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to ensure all equipment operates safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities1. Maintenance & Repair of Heavy Equipment
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery such as:
✔ Excavators
✔ Loaders
✔ Bulldozers
✔ Backhoe loaders
✔ Forklifts
✔ Cranes
✔ Dump trucks & trailers
- Repair and overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and braking systems.
2. Diagnosing & Troubleshooting
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Repair engine components, pumps, valves, injectors, gearboxes, and control systems.
- Resolve overheating, fuel system, and low-pressure issues.
3. Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic cylinders, hoses, pumps, and control valves.
- Service pneumatic components and brake systems.
4. Electrical System Repairs
- Repair wiring, sensors, starters, alternators, batteries, and lighting systems.
- Diagnose faults using basic electrical testing tools.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain service logs, maintenance records, and job cards.
- Report major issues to supervisors and suggest repair solutions.
6. Safety & Workshop Practices
- Follow all safety procedures and standard workshop guidelines.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
- Identify unsafe machine conditions and take corrective action.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and service bulletins.
- Hands-on experience with engine overhauling.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Physically fit and able to work in field/workshop environments
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: BD180.000 - BD250.000 per month
