Diesel Service Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction, as you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet.

Duties

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other brands.
• Conduct routine maintenance on various types of heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, trucks, and trailers.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently as needed for repairs or maintenance tasks.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks.
• Pull a trailer, drive a small dump truck as needed. CDL not required, but preferred.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles and equipment.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
• Proficiency in working with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Experience with vehicle maintenance specific to diesel engines is essential.
• Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and tire service procedures.
• Ability to read schematics for electrical troubleshooting is a plus.
• Previous experience in a dealership setting or as a service technician is preferred.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
