Diesel Technician

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our busy Burnie Component Rebuild Centre.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Specialisation Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out minor and major repairs on the full range of Caterpillar components including Engines, Transmissions, Hydraulic pumps, valves, and cylinders, as well as operating engine and transmission dynamometers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Carrying out overhaul, repairs and maintenance of earthmoving, construction, mining and agricultural components
2. Troubleshooting and testing of components, engine transmissions, fuel system
3. Ensuring appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are applied at all times
4. Comply with all company safety, health & environment procedures
5. Providing quality customer service
6. Guiding & mentoring trade assistants and apprentices

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

1. Qualified Diesel Technician
2. Committed to delivering superior customer service
3. A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures
4. Familiarity with Caterpillar computer diagnostics
5. Current Driver's Licence
6. Working knowledge of parts & service systems
7. Previous supervision or mentoring of trades assistants/apprentices
