1. Patient Assessment & Diet Planning
- Conduct nutritional assessments for inpatients and outpatients.
- Develop individualized diet plans based on diagnosis, medical history, and biochemical parameters.
- Coordinate with doctors and nurses to understand clinical requirements.
- Monitor patient progress and update diet plans accordingly.
2. Diet Preparation & Monitoring
- Ensure the preparation and delivery of meals as per prescribed diet charts.
- Supervise hospital kitchen staff to maintain food hygiene, portion control, and quality.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with FSSAI and hospital standards.
- Check food temperature, taste, texture, and presentation before distribution.
3. Patient Education & Counseling
- Provide nutrition counseling for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, renal issues, cardiac conditions, obesity, and gastrointestinal disorders.
- Educate patients and family members on post-discharge diet guidelines.
- Conduct nutrition-related workshops and group sessions (if required).
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain updated diet charts and patient records in HMS/EMR.
- Prepare daily diet sheets and communicate requirements to the kitchen team.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly department reports to management.
5. Compliance & Quality Standards
- Ensure food service operations follow NABH, FSSAI, and hospital policies.
- Participate in audits, quality checks, and committee meetings.
- Implement and monitor infection control and safety practices in kitchen areas.
6. Coordination
- Work closely with doctors, nursing staff, and food service teams to ensure timely diet delivery.
