Digital Account Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Digital Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and is responsible for helping them achieve meaningful business results through smart marketing strategies, strong communication, and exceptional account leadership. This role is about ownership, leadership, and problem-solving, not simply managing projects or relaying information between teams.

The Digital Account Manager works closely with strategists, designers, developers, content creators, and clients to ensure marketing initiatives remain aligned with business objectives and growth goals. Success in this role requires curiosity, critical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trust while helping clients navigate marketing decisions.

The ideal candidate understands how digital marketing, websites, content, paid search, SEO, and customer experience work together to support business growth and can confidently guide client conversations around those topics.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Guide Marketing Strategy

  • Help clients prioritize marketing initiatives that align with their business goals and available resources.
  • Provide strategic recommendations across website optimization, SEO, content marketing, email marketing, branding, social media, and lead generation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness, customer experience, and business growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor who helps clients make informed marketing decisions and understand where to focus their efforts.

Build Trusted Client Relationships

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Lead regular client meetings focused on performance, priorities, opportunities, and next steps.
  • Build long-term relationships through responsiveness, accountability, and proactive communication.
  • Translate marketing concepts and performance data into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Manage expectations while helping clients navigate changing business priorities and marketing challenges.

Drive Internal Alignment

  • Clearly communicate client goals, priorities, feedback, and expectations to internal teams.
  • Partner with strategists, designers, developers, designers, content creators, and social media teams to ensure work aligns with client objectives.
  • Help establish priorities and keep projects moving forward across multiple service lines.
  • Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and communication to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Advocate for the client while balancing agency resources and priorities.

Measure Results

  • Monitor key performance indicators and marketing outcomes across client engagements.
  • Help clients understand what is working, what needs improvement, and where opportunities exist.
  • Use data, insights, and business context to guide recommendations and decision-making.
  • Look for ways to improve results, strengthen client relationships, and expand the agency’s impact.
  • Support long-term client retention and account growth through proactive thinking and strategic leadership.

Strengthen Agency Operations

  • Contribute to improving internal processes, tools, documentation, and training to support team growth.
  • Help onboard new account team members as Viden continues to scale.
  • Model high standards for communication, responsiveness, professionalism, and execution.

SKILLS

Client Leadership & Strategy Expertise

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, paid search, content marketing, website strategy, email marketing, branding, and social media marketing.
  • Ability to connect marketing activities to broader business objectives and growth goals.
  • Experience presenting recommendations and performance insights to business owners and leadership teams.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple clients, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced agency environment preferred.

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in account management, client services, and marketing strategy.

Location Requirement

  • Must be able to work full time in person at our Minneapolis-based office (near 494 and France Avenue).
