The Digital Communications Coordinator supports the execution of SBAM’s strategic communications and marketing initiatives. This role blends content creation, digital marketing, email communications, graphic design, and social media management to help SBAM engage, inform, and grow its statewide small business community.

The Digital Communications Coordinator develops compelling digital content, maintains SBAM’s marketing channels, and supports campaigns that promote member benefits, events, advocacy efforts, and organizational priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital & Email Marketing

  • Develop, build, and deploy email marketing campaigns that support member engagement, program promotion, event marketing, advocacy updates, and partnership initiatives.
  • Maintain the email content calendar and ensure timely delivery.
  • Segment and target audiences using engagement data.
  • Monitor and report on email metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and best practices.

Content Creation & Copywriting

  • Write clear, accurate, and engaging copy for emails, web pages, blog posts, member stories, and promotional materials.
  • Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging.
  • Create content supporting advocacy, membership, and partner initiatives.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

  • Create and publish daily social media content across all SBAM platforms.
  • Develop graphics, animations, videos, and other multimedia assets.
  • Monitor engagement and recommend growth strategies.
  • Coordinate paid social media and Google ad campaigns.

Graphic Design & Creative Support

  • Create marketing materials, including event graphics, promotions, digital ads, brochures, and flyers.
  • Support photography, videography, and video editing needs.
  • Maintain organized digital asset libraries.

Website Management

  • Perform updates and content edits using WordPress or similar CMS tools.
  • Ensure accuracy, accessibility, and usability of site content.

Cross-Team Support

  • Collaborate with departments to develop effective communication materials.
  • Support SBAM events with marketing collateral and digital promotion.
  • Participate in campaign planning and continuous improvement efforts.

Shared Responsibilities

  • Support SBAM’s strategic communications plan across all channels.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to gather content and support priorities.
  • Maintain cohesive brand voice and consistent messaging.
  • Track and report performance metrics for communication initiatives.
  • Maintain digital file accuracy, project documentation, and calendars.
  • Support SBAM events and member programs.
  • Ensure messaging aligns with SBAM’s mission.
  • Participate in planning and brainstorming sessions.
  • Uphold accessibility and communication best practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Skills/Knowledge

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency with email marketing tools.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and basic video editing tools.
  • Experience managing social media content.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to interpret performance data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with WordPress or CMS tools.
  • Experience with events or membership-based organizations.
  • Familiarity with SEO, Google Ads, and UX principles.
  • Photography or videography experience.

2. Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, digital media or related field and at least three years of relevant experience, preferably in a non-profit or association environment.

3. Physical effort and dexterity

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers on the computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

4. Work environment and scheduling

The regular work environment results in little to no exposure to heat, cold, dust, loud noise or chemicals. Regular working hours for this position are 8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday. The employer may offer a hybrid work model following the successful completion of all training and onboarding-related activities.

Pay: From $47,000.00 per year
