The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is seeking a Digital Communications Manager to join our dynamic Marketing & Communications team!

This position will play a key role in driving public awareness and engagement through innovative digital strategies. As the Digital Communications Manager, you’ll be responsible for planning, executing and evaluating all aspects of our digital communications to promote the YMCA’s mission, programs, events and initiatives. This includes creating original, compelling content that tells the YMCA’s story in authentic and engaging ways. From impactful social media storytelling to strategic email marketing campaigns, you'll lead efforts that grow our brand presence and deepen community engagement through high-quality, mission-driven content.

Under the supervision of the Senior Marketing Director and responsible to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Digital Communications Manager plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the digital communications functions to achieve and maintain favorable public awareness and support of the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA. This role is responsible for developing and executing digital strategies that effectively promote the YMCA’s programs, initiatives and mission through targeted social media and email marketing campaigns. The Digital Communications Manager manages the organization’s presence across all major social media platforms, creating compelling content that drives engagement, increases brand visibility and fosters community interaction. Additionally, the role oversees the delivery of email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, program announcements and fundraising appeals, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with organizational goals. The Digital Communications Manager will collaborate closely with departments across the association to support digital storytelling, measure campaign performance and stay current with best practices and emerging trends in digital communications and social media.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Social media strategy, planning, analytics, training, monitoring and execution.
  • Serve as the lead in developing compelling social content to highlight YMCA programs, impact and stories as designated in the strategic plan.
  • Serve as the lead for targeted email communications outside of association-wide campaigns. This includes, but is not limited to newsletters, programming promotions, member updates, emergency notifications and the distribution of the Building Community newsletter to donors and other key audiences as needed.
  • Proofing of all digital communications before they are sent out.
  • Digital content creator for the Tampa YMCA association and all centers/programs.
  • Evolve overall association social media presence and center engagement.
  • Implement digital/social training and guidelines for centers so key staff are aware of their roles.
  • Support media outreach, events, earned media opportunities and internal communications.
  • Develop and disseminate newsletters and other digital communications tools.
  • Utilize systems including but not limited to Brandwatch, Meltwater, Delivra and Lytho and assist with analytical reports.
  • Provide 24-hour, weekend and holiday social media support to all locations as needed.
  • Completes project assignments for the Senior Marketing Director as identified.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, plus 3+ years’ experience.
  • Possess superior writing and editing skills.
  • Planning and project management expertise.
  • A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of analytics, audience segmentation and content optimization to enhance the YMCA’s digital reach and impact.
  • Experience in setting and implementing graphic standards, image and identity; know how to work with the print and electronic media.
  • Experience with planning and implementation of development and campaign materials.
  • Technical expertise to prepare audiovisual presentations and materials.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be highly organized and have the ability to work with confidential matters.
  • Local travel is required weekly between Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Citrus County.
  • Ability to work weekends is required.
  • Prior YMCA communications experience preferred.
  • Must obtain within 30 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen Administration.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and authorized work phone/smart device
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including but not limited to, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
  • The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment
  • Ability to lift and move a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, specifically those subject to extreme humidity/dampness, heat and cold
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • This position may require availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must be able to perform all duties and functions of those that are supervised
