OVERVIEW
Hydra Pest Control is hiring a Digital Content and Social Media Specialist to strengthen our online presence and create consistent high quality content that reflects the work and culture of our company. This role focuses on producing original photos, videos, graphics, and written content across our social platforms. You will visit job sites, capture real field footage, coordinate with staff, and keep our brand active and engaging online.
The ideal candidate understands how to tell stories through digital content and can manage both creative and administrative tasks with steady follow through.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Content Creation
- Capture photos and videos of technicians job sites equipment and company activities
- Create posts stories and short form video content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other popular media platforms.
- Design graphics and branded materials using Canva or similar tools.
- Write captions and digital copy that communicates clearly and reflects company messaging.
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule across all platforms.
2. Brand Presence and Engagement
- Respond to comments, messages, and public engagement on social channels.
- Gather employee photos, stories, and highlights to showcase company culture.
- Share educational content and customer facing updates.
- Support overall brand representation for multiple branch locations.
3. Field Content Gathering
- Visit branches and job sites to collect field footage.
- Coordinate with staff for content opportunities and filming needs.
- Take onboarding and annual staff photos for digital profiles.
- Travel occasionally with lodging and fuel paid by the company.
4. Administrative and Creative Support
- Organize digital media folders and maintain a clean content library.
- Track basic content performance and provide simple engagement reports.
- Help plan monthly content calendars and seasonal campaigns.
- Support filming and organization of internal training videos.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or other SM platforms.
- Ability to use Canva or similar design tools.
- Ability to take quality photos and videos using a camera or phone.
- Strong writing skills for captions and digital content.
- Comfortable interacting with staff on camera and directing simple filming situations.
- Reliable, organized, and consistent in meeting deadlines.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Must be 18 or older.
COMPENSATION - SCHEDULE
- Pay: $16 - $23+ / hr depending on experience
- Hours: Part Time Schedule
- Schedule: Mon - Fri, 20 to 30 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours as content needs and with the possibility of moving into full time hours as responsibilities and demand increases.
As our digital presence grows, this role may develop into a larger creative position with added responsibilities.

- High school or equivalent (Required)
