Tier One Transmission is a well-established, privately held transmission specialist in Phoenix, AZ, dedicated to the expert rebuilding and repair of transmissions for classic, performance, and everyday vehicles. We pride ourselves on technical excellence, quality craftsmanship, and straight-talk service. We're looking for a passionate and technically curious Digital Content Strategist to translate our mechanical expertise into engaging digital content that drives customer engagement and reinforces our brand authority.


The Role


The Digital Content Strategist will be our in-house storyteller, responsible for the end-to-end creation, production, and distribution of high-quality content across our digital channels. This is a hands-on role that requires a blend of excellent copywriting, photography/videography, and digital marketing skills. The ideal candidate has a passion for the automotive industry and can make complex topics—like differential repair or torque converters—accessible and interesting to both professional clients and car owners.


Key Responsibilities


Content Strategy & Production (60%)

  • Create Diverse Content: Develop and produce a variety of content types, including short-form videos (e.g., TikTok/Instagram Reels), high-quality photography, written blog posts, and engaging social media captions.
  • Video Production: Script, film, and edit short, punchy videos showcasing "before and after" projects, "how-it-works" mechanical explanations, and day-in-the-life Tier One Transmissions shop tours.
  • Written Content: Write clear, SEO-optimized content for the company blog and website, focusing on common transmission problems, repair vs. replacement guides, and vehicle-specific information.
  • Visual Storytelling: Capture and edit compelling photos of completed transmission rebuilds, specialized tools, and the team's professional work process.

Social Media & Community Management (30%)

  • Channel Management: Manage, schedule, and publish content across key platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Local Engagement: Use social media to connect with the local Phoenix automotive community, promote local car show attendance, and highlight customer vehicles.
  • Community Interaction: Actively monitor comments, messages, and mentions, responding promptly to foster a positive online community and collect content ideas.

Performance & Analytics (10%)

  • SEO & Keywords: Conduct basic keyword research to identify high-value search terms (e.g., "transmission repair Phoenix," "cost of clutch replacement") to inform blog and video topics.
  • Reporting: Track and report on content performance using platform analytics to understand what resonates with the audience and drive continuous content improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Content Creator, Content Specialist, Social Media Specialist, or similar role, preferably in a niche, technical, or B2B/B2C service-based industry.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating high-quality short-form video production (filming and editing) and strong photography skills.
  • Exceptional written communication and editing skills with the ability to adapt voice for different audiences (e.g., technical for a fleet manager vs. explanatory for a car owner).
  • Solid understanding of major social media platforms, including their unique content formats and community guidelines.
  • Familiarity with basic SEO principles and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Must be willing to work on-site in the Phoenix, AZ shop environment.



Preferred Skills (Bonus Points!)

  • Experience or strong personal interest in the automotive industry, mechanics, or performance vehicles.
  • Proficiency with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) for creating social media graphics.
  • Proficiency with video production software (e.g, Adobe premiere pro, Final Cut Pro)
  • Experience running national, regional or local or targeted social media ad campaigns.
  • Proven track record capturing market share in creating and executing a content strategic plan.
