Location: New York City, NY | Full-Time

Grain Group accelerates the growth of the world’s most ambitious consumer brands. By aligning business insights with ROI-driven marketing, we unlock the competitive edge that allows clients to disrupt categories and reimagine industries. Our team is led by strategic thinkers and doers with diverse backgrounds in business, media, technology, and finance.

We are seeking a Digital Creative Designer to join our team. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role for someone who is equal parts brand storyteller, conversion-focused designer, and platform-native content creator. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in crafting high-impact static and motion video assets for social ads, landing pages, and email—especially across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. You should be fluent in brand systems, able to concept and iterate quickly, and excited to push creative boundaries that drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead concept development and design execution across paid social ads, landing pages, email, and organic content—delivering both static and motion assets tailored to platform best practices.
  • Translate marketing strategy and audience insights into compelling visual stories that convert.
  • Develop and maintain scalable brand systems, including typography, color, layout grids, and design templates in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Design and edit short-form videos, motion graphics, and UGC-style ads optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Collaborate closely with media buyers, strategists, and copywriters to align creative with campaign goals and ensure full-funnel cohesion.
  • Continuously test, optimize, and iterate on creative based on performance data and audience feedback.
  • Stay current with platform trends, cultural shifts, and design innovation to keep creative fresh, relevant, and high-performing.

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Serve as a creative thought partner to the media and strategy teams, bringing fresh thinking to performance campaigns and brand initiatives.
  • Present concepts and final work to internal stakeholders and clients with confidence and clarity, connecting creative choices to business goals.
  • Maintain a pulse on emerging design tools, AI applications, and best practices to continually elevate the creative output of the team.
  • Support and mentor junior designers, providing feedback and fostering a culture of creative excellence.
  • Contribute to new business opportunities by developing pitch decks, creative mockups, and mood boards that demonstrate our design capabilities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional design experience, ideally in a performance marketing, eCommerce, or digital agency environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital ad creative, landing pages, and/or short-form video designed for performance.
  • Mastery of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere).
  • Strong understanding of social-first creative principles, mobile design best practices, and conversion-centered design.
  • Familiarity with editing and repurposing UGC-style content for Meta and TikTok Ads.
  • Data-informed and results-driven—comfortable interpreting performance data to guide creative decisions.
  • Clear communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate your creative process and decisions.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Bonus:

  • Experience with AI design tools (e.g., Midjourney, Runway, Adobe Firefly)
  • Motion design/animation background
  • Experience in eCommerce, beauty, or consumer product brands
