ABOUT THE ROLE

Architectural Digest Middle East (AD), the international design authority, is looking for a creative, proactive, full-time Digital Editor to join its digital business, based in the Conde Nast Middle East office in Dubai. Reporting to the Head of Editorial Content (HEC), this role is critical, central to all digital operations as it helps organize daily content and workflow for staff and freelance content creators.The ideal candidate is a true generalist when it comes to design, with experience editing, assigning, writing, and creating newsy and long-lead content about design and architecture as well as how those topics relate to pop culture, entertainment, real estate, celebrities, travel, technology, and more. The Digital Editor must be able to package original ideas, write and edit compelling content, leverage data and insights to continually improve content performance, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with HEC and editorial leaders to shape copy, production, social strategy, and workflow for all content on admiddleeast.com, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Work with features leads to develop and maintain brand’s editorial calendars
  • Work with audience and revenue development teams to help inform content development, identify and monitor trending topics, SEO keywords and ideas, story performance, and more. Proactively suggest new ideas to develop content that supports site growth
  • Work with product and development leads as an editorial liaison for site/CMS updates
  • Ensure all editorial contributors adhere to AD quality and style standards
  • With a keen eye on performance and digital revenue, write, assign, and edit daily features and news that push AD forward globally as a driver of cultural conversation, while maintaining a high level of excellence and journalistic urgency
  • Contribute to editorial and business initiatives as needed


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience managing, editing, and writing at a digital media company
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills; deadline-conscious, goal-oriented
  • Impeccable editorial judgment, writing, and ability to capture AD’s voice to reach new and existing audiences
  • A passion for design and lifestyle topics, a curiosity for global culture—and a strong sense for identifying stories through those lenses. Key industry contacts to enhance these topics to develop AD’s unique point of view
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Network of design contacts a plus
  • Familiarity with analytics, CMS, content optimization, social platforms, and related publishing skills.
  • Affiliate/ecommerce experience a plus
