The Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is currently seeking a talented Digital Graphic Designer to join the Printing, Graphics, and Direct Mail’s (PGDM) graphic design team.
In this role, you’ll shape impactful visual experiences across the United States Senate by creating innovative digital media, dynamic interactive content, and visually compelling print publications. You’ll collaborate with a team of talented designers to elevate both internal and external communications, develop accessible and inclusive materials, and modernize legacy documents to meet today’s design and accessibility standards.

The ideal candidate is fluent in current design trends, comfortable leading or contributing to design consultations with internal partners, and skilled at translating complex requests into polished, modern solutions.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Job Duties
Coordinates and manages the creation of a variety of digital media projects including social media ads, interactive PDFs, Email designs, animated gifs, and fillable forms. Creates e-Publications that include interactive maps, video, hyperlinks, scrolling frames, page buttons, pop-ups, and other interactivity. Ensures publishing activities follow digital accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.0 guidelines and performs user accessibility testing for digital media publications. Performs user accessibility testing for digital media publications. Develops the UI/UX for web and mobile document services and applications. Creates and designs a variety of print projects. Handles graphic production and creates graphic elements, assets, and visual treatments that adapt and flow with responsive design systems. Serves as a back-up to the section lead in his/her absence. Other duties as assigned.

To be employed by a Senate employing office in a paid position in the continental United States an individual must:
1. Be a U.S. citizen;
2. Be lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B);
