Established in 1981, CMAA has been a cornerstone of the Uptown community, providing programming for generations of low-income youth, adults, and senior citizens. We offer direct services, including: afterschool & youth mentorship programming, job training & placement, elder care services, and social services such as citizenship & housing services.

Job Description

Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is seeking a mission-driven Digital Literacy Coordinator to support our Adult Education Programs. The Digital Literacy Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating monthly digital literacy workshops that empower community members with essential technology skills. This role supports digital equity across the CMAA Consortium member programs by providing accessible, culturally responsive instruction and ensuring participants can confidently use technology for education, employment, and daily life. This position is funded through a grant from 1/1/26 to 12/31/26.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Program Design & Delivery

  • Develop and facilitate digital literacy workshops for diverse limited English proficient adults across the Consortium programs
  • Create curriculum and learning materials covering topics such as basic computer skills, internet use, email, online safety, job search tools, and productivity software
  • Adapt instruction to meet varying skill levels and learning needs
  • Provide CASAS eTesting assistance across CMAA Consortium programs

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners
  • Coordinate outreach and recruitment efforts to increase program participation
  • Support volunteers, interns, or peer educators involved in program delivery

Technology & Resource Support

  • Assist participants with devices, software, and digital platforms
  • Recommend accessible and low-cost technology tools and resources
  • Stay informed about digital equity trends and best practices

Data, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track attendance, outcomes, and participant progress
  • Collect surveys and feedback to assess program effectiveness
  • Contribute to grant reporting, impact summaries, and internal documentation
Requirements:


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (required)
  • Previous experience tutoring or teaching adults with limited English proficiency
  • Availability and flexibility to teach a mix of in-person and online, at varying times of day each term; the ability to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member, cooperating with and demonstrating cultural sensitivity to staff and constituents
  • Proficiency with Google platforms, Microsoft Office, and LMSs
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus but not required

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends are required

Physical Demands

  • This is a largely sedentary role, however some filing is required. This could require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.

The approximate salary for this position is $42,000.00 annually. Please note that the indicated base salary is provided in good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, etc.
