Digital Marketing & Content Specialist – Boutique Spa in Brooklyn (Freelance or PT)

We’re looking for an execution-focused Digital Marketing & Content Specialist to help us grow and show up beautifully online. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day execution across our digital marketing channels, from email and website updates to social media and booking system management.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in small business settings, communicates clearly, and can juggle multiple platforms and priorities.

About Us

Bellanova Beauty Lab is a boutique Brooklyn spa known for high-touch, science-forward skincare. We’re growing, and we need a sharp, proactive marketer who can translate our treatments and seasonal promos into compelling content and campaigns that convert.

Your Role

You’ll execute and help manage digital marketing across the following areas:

CRM & Email Marketing

• Manage CRM flows, campaigns, and segmentation
• Build email newsletters and promotional blasts tied to booking goals

Promos & Campaigns

• Support monthly and seasonal marketing calendars
• Execute seasonal promotions and assist with copy and creative coordination

Website & Booking Platform

• Update treatment descriptions, pricing, and new services
• Update ecommerce product pages
• Optimize pages for SEO (keywords, metadata, alt text, internal linking)
• Experience with Wordpress/Woocommerce platforms is ideal

Social Media – Organic & Paid

• Create and schedule Instagram posts, Reels, and Stories
• Stay current on platform trends and algorithm changes
• Develop content strategies focused on organic growth
• Pivot quickly when content isn’t performing
• Launch and monitor paid ads (Meta, Google) is a plus

Analytics & Optimization

• Track performance across email, ads, and social
• Recommend quick wins and improvements based on data

Additional Support Areas (as needed and as time allows)

• Capture or coordinate spa content (e.g., photos, Reels, behind-the-scenes)
• Light image/video editing using tools like Canva or CapCut
• Engage with the community via comments, DMs, tags, and local collaborations
• Monitor brand visibility on review platforms (e.g., Yelp, Google)
• Help ensure alignment between booking, CRM, and social channels (basic marketing ops)

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, ideally in beauty, wellness, or lifestyle
• Strong writer, content creator, and digital generalist
• Up-to-date on SEO best practices and how to drive organic traffic
• Excellent communicator and reliable team player
• Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable learning new tools as needed
• Familiar with CMS tools, booking platforms, and Canva-level design work
• NYC-based or familiar with independent brand culture is a plus
• Genuinely passionate about the beauty and service industry: you understand the customer mindset and care about elevating the client experience

• Type: Freelance / Part-Time (approximately 16 hrs/week to start)
• Location: Remote with on-site visits (Brooklyn)
• Compensation: Competitive hourly or monthly retainer, depending on experience
