Kelly Wearstler is seeking a Director of FF&E to lead our furnishings, fixtures, and equipment practice across luxury hospitality, private residential estates, and various other high-end project types. The ideal candidate brings a discerning eye for materiality, a deep command of the FF&E process from sourcing through installation, and the creative and operational leadership to execute at the highest level. This is a role for someone who leads with both conviction and curiosity, equally at home shaping the vision for a bespoke interior and building the systems that bring it to life across a complex, multi-project portfolio.
- Lead FF&E creative direction and project management across active interior projects from concept through installation, ensuring cohesion with overall design intent.
- Oversee and mentor multidisciplinary FF&E teams across all project phases, managing scope, schedule, and design quality.
- Act as a primary client-facing leader for all FF&E programming; build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, and brand partners throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Drive sourcing strategy, custom design, specification, and procurement across the studio's active interior projects.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with vendors, artisans, fabricators, and showrooms at a global level.
- Partner with project and interiors leadership to align FF&E budgets and schedules with broader project milestones.
- Contribute to new business development through pitches, client cultivation, and industry relationships.
- Lead design reviews, critiques, and professional development initiatives across the FF&E team.
- Champion the integration of AI tools across the FF&E workflow, from sourcing and specification to presentation and documentation, while upholding the studio's standard of craft and originality.
- 10+ years of experience in high-end FF&E interior design, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-project portfolios across luxury hospitality and residential sectors.
- Deep knowledge of FF&E design, specification, procurement, custom fabrication, and materials.
- Established network of vendor, artisan, and fabricator relationships across domestic and international markets.
- Substantial construction administration and FF&E installation experience across interior project types.
- Familiarity with AI-powered design and workflow tools, and a proactive approach to adopting emerging technologies that enhance studio efficiency and creative output.
- Strong presentation and communication skills; confident leading both client and internal meetings.
- Experience supporting business development and client relationship growth.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office; SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, and Enscape a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture; Master's preferred.
