Position Overview

Dare to Care Food Bank is seeking a creative, strategic, and mission-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to amplify our voice and impact across digital platforms. As part of the Communications team, this role will report to the Communications Director and play a key role in increasing awareness, engagement, and support for our mission: working together to provide pathways to end hunger in our community.

The Digital Marketing Specialist will lead the execution of digital campaigns and content across social media, website, email, and online advertising. With an eye toward innovation, inclusion, and excellence, the ideal candidate will bring both technical skill and storytelling ability to help convey the urgency and hope behind our vision: a nourished community where everyone can thrive.

This position is M-F from 8-5 and is located at 1200 S. 28th Street, Louisville, KY.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Strategy & Campaign Management

Develop and execute integrated digital strategies to support awareness, engagement, and fundraising goals.

· Develop and implement a cohesive social media strategy aligned with organizational goals.

· Plan and manage digital ad campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn), including creative, targeting, budgeting, and performance tracking.

· Align digital efforts with broader communications and fundraising campaigns.

· Monitor digital trends and incorporate best practices to improve engagement and reach.

Content Creation & Brand Storytelling

Bring Dare to Care’s mission and values to life through compelling, on-brand digital content.

Create, schedule, and publish original content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter).

· Write and edit digital content that reflects the organization’s voice, values, and visual identity.

· Develop content calendars that integrate messaging across all platforms.

· Capture multimedia content in the field (at partner pantries, warehouses, mobile pantries, etc.) to highlight impact and stories.

Email Marketing & List Management

Connect with stakeholders through timely, relevant, and well-crafted email communications.

· Design and distribute email newsletters and e-blasts for community members, and partners.

· Manage and grow email lists and segmentation to ensure appropriate targeting and personalization.

· Track open and click-through rates to inform future campaigns.

Website & SEO Optimization

Ensure Dare to Care’s online presence is accurate, accessible, and aligned with brand standards.

· Manage and update website content to reflect current programs, news, and impact.

· Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to maintain site functionality.

· Apply SEO best practices to increase website visibility and engagement.

Analytics & Performance Reporting

Measure what matters and use data to drive decisions.

· Track and analyze performance metrics across digital platforms.

· Prepare regular reports on engagement, growth, and campaign effectiveness.

· Use insights to continuously improve strategy and execution.

Collaboration & Mission Alignment

Work in partnership with others to support our strategic plan and values-driven culture.

· Collaborate cross-functionally to align messaging with programs, development, and community initiatives.

· Uphold Dare to Care’s values of Belonging, Innovation, Respect, and Safety in all content and communications.

· Support storytelling efforts that reflect the diversity, dignity, and experiences of our community. (oversee storytelling videography projects)

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Participate in cross-functional projects, strategic initiatives, and other organizational efforts in service of advancing food equity and neighbor well-being.

What it Takes:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in multimedia, graphic design, public relations, communications, marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing, content creation, or multimedia production.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital campaigns, social media content, and multimedia work. (Must be prepared to share your portfolio during face-to-face interview(s))

Technical Skills & Digital Proficiency

  • Tools that bring stories and strategy to life.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), Final Cut Pro, and or Canva.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, SEO, SEM, and basic web development concepts.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and CRM tools.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools and analytics dashboards (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics).
  • Organizing and prioritizing tasks across multiple projects and timelines with attention to detail.

Visual & Written Communication

· Clear, compelling, and consistent messaging across every medium.

· Strong visual design skills with keen attention to detail and brand consistency.

· Excellent writing and editing skills tailored to digital audiences.

· Ability to translate complex ideas into accessible and engaging content.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit (at least 50% of the time), use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving food items and boxes. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving a personal vehicle to visit community partners and attending events, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance. Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
