Position Overview

The Digital Marketing Specialist helps shape AIM’s online presence and supports our overall marketing and communications strategy. We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven individual to support our marketing, sales, and business development teams with actionable insights. The ideal candidate will analyze market trends, customer behavior, campaign performance, and competitive landscapes to help optimize strategic decisions and improve ROI. You will work across web, analytics, paid media, SEO, email, and digital content to increase awareness, engagement, and revenue.

This role reports to the Director of Digital Transformation, and works closely with the Content and Social Media Specialist.


Key Responsibilities

Market & Competitor Intelligence

  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer segments, and emerging opportunities.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product positioning.
  • Support development of data-driven go-to-market and positioning strategies.

Customer Insights

  • Analyze customer behavior and segmentation to improve targeting and personalization.
  • Support customer journey mapping and funnel performance optimization.
  • Provide insights to improve acquisition, retention, and customer lifetime value.

Website & Digital Experience

  • Lead AIM’s digital marketing strategy across web, search, paid media, and analytics.
  • Bring industry knowledge and best practices to help shape AIM’s marketing direction.
  • Manage AIM’s website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with our brand.
  • Oversee website content, including images, video, and layout improvements.
  • Recommend tools, processes, and improvements that level up our digital presence.
  • Support digital toolkits and cross-team marketing needs.

Brand Standards & Asset Management

  • Maintain and enforce AIM’s brand standards across all digital and print assets.
  • Create and manage standardized templates including email signatures, letterheads, slide decks, proposals, and internal documents.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all teams, platforms, and communications.
  • Work with internal teams to update outdated materials and ensure compliance with updated brand guidelines.

Digital Campaigns & Growth

  • Plan, run, and optimize digital campaigns across Google Ads, LinkedIn, SEO, SEM, email, and content marketing campaigns.
  • Build measurable campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and quality leads.
  • Develop newsletters, email marketing workflows, and e-blasts.
  • Manage CRM segmentation and maintain clean, accurate data.

Analytics & Decision Support

  • Track and interpret performance using Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
  • Set KPIs, monitor benchmarks, and provide clear monthly reporting to leadership.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, product, and sales teams to align analytics with business goals.
  • Support strategic planning with data-driven insights and forecasting.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Partner closely with the content owners on integrated campaigns.

What You Bring

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, New Media, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in sectors like arts, culture, athletics, or community organizations is an asset.
  • Experience building or improving digital marketing structure in a growing organization.
  • 3-5 years of digital marketing experience.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Google Ads, Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and LinkedIn.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM systems and database management.
  • Solid understanding of SEO and SEM, including keyword search, link-building, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo).
  • Proficiency in ‘Mail Chimp’ or similar email tools.
  • Strong experience with Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and produce actionable insights.
