    A vacancy exists for a Digital Media and Design Specialist position to work at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit! The Digital Media and Design Specialist is responsible for coordinating publications, marketing, and communications activities across print and digital platforms. This position supports the development, production, and distribution of publications and communication materials, ensuring they are accurate, accessible, timely, and aligned with established standards. The Specialist serves as a central point of coordination among Publications, Graphics, and Communications staff across all offices. The role emphasizes collaboration, project tracking, accessibility, and consistency across communications efforts, while supporting the ongoing transition from print-based materials to more accessible, web-based formats.
    Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Provides operational support for digital communications, website systems, accessibility implementation, design services, and communication infrastructure
    • Manage website operations, updates, and digital structure
    • Support website migration and digital communication projects
    • Implement accessibility standards and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance practices
    • Oversee internal and external website usability and organizational communication
    • Design graphics, publications, reports, and organizational materials
    • Support survey development, reporting, and communication workflows
    • Develop templates and standards for accessible communications
    • Provide digital design and production support across organizational initiatives
    Qualifications:
    • BS Degree Strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in appropriate field preferred
    • Experienced with desktop publishing and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign).
    • Proficiency in web content management systems and understanding of web design/development principles.
    • Skills in photography, video recording, and editing software (e.g. Canva, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop).
    • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management, SEO, and email marketing.
    • Professional performance and ethical behavior in public relations following industry standards.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to develop strategic marketing plans and campaigns that align with organizational goals.
    • Competence in using analytics tools to measure and report on campaign success and website performance.
    • Superior communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
    • Ability to work as a member of a team, follow directions, and follow through with completed assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
    • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and read and understand highly technical documents.
    • Valid driver's license and safe driving record without major traffic violations; travel to school buildings as required.
    • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.

    Location:

    MCIU, 2 West Lafayette Street, Norristown, PA 19401.

    Work Schedule:
    Monday - Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260 - 262 days/year)

    Annual Salary:
    $27.41/hour - $32.25/hour (PS2)
