Digital Merchandising Internship

About the Internship

Lawson Products and Kent Automotive are looking for a high-energy, curious Digital Merchandising Intern who’s excited to explore how customers shop online and help make that experience better every day.

If you enjoy asking questions like “Why can’t customers find this product?” or “How could this page work better?” — and you’re excited to dig into data, tools, and real customer behavior — this internship is for you.

You’ll work directly with our digital merchandising and eCommerce teams, gaining hands-on experience with internal search, on-site merchandising, and competitive analysis for two well-established B2B brands.

What You’ll Do

As a Digital Merchandising Intern, you’ll help improve how customers discover and interact with products online. Your work will include:

  • Supporting internal search optimization by reviewing search terms, identifying gaps, and helping improve product discoverability
  • Using tools like session replay and customer journey insights to understand how users navigate the site and where they get stuck
  • Assisting with competitive reviews, comparing our digital experience to competitors and identifying opportunities to improve
  • Helping maintain and enhance product content (descriptions, images, attributes, and specs)
  • Supporting digital merchandising initiatives such as site navigation, product organization, and promotions
  • Assisting with product launches, seasonal updates, and assortment changes
  • Analyzing basic site and product performance data to spot trends and opportunities
  • Jumping into special projects that help improve the overall online shopping experience

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, curiosity, and initiative to everything they do.

You’ll be a great fit if you are:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Merchandising, Analytics, eCommerce, or a related field
  • High-energy and genuinely curious — you like exploring data, tools, and customer behavior
  • Interested in how customers search, browse, and shop online
  • Comfortable learning new tools (like internal search reporting, session replay, and analytics platforms)
  • Detail-oriented but also able to think big-picture
  • Organized, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions
  • A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating across teams

Nice to Have (But Not Required)
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms, analytics tools, or content management systems (class projects count!)
  • Familiarity with SEO, site search, UX, or digital marketing concepts
  • Previous internship, retail, or customer-facing experience

The hourly rate for this role is $19.50.
