About the Role
City University Qatar is seeking a Digital Services Manager to lead the governance, development, and optimisation of its core academic digital ecosystem, including Ellucian Banner, Ellucian CRM, Canvas/Blackboard, and Microsoft 365.
This role acts as the institutional product owner, ensuring effective system integration, data integrity, process improvement, and strong user adoption across the University.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Systems Ownership & Governance
- Lead governance and roadmap for core student and academic systems
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with institutional priorities
System Implementation & Integration
- Oversee implementation, upgrades, and optimisation of Banner and related platforms
- Manage system integrations in collaboration with IT and external vendors
Business Process Enablement
- Translate academic and operational requirements into system configurations and workflows
- Support process improvement and standardisation through digital solutions
Data Governance & Reporting
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytics frameworks to support decision-making
User Enablement & Adoption
- Deliver training, documentation, and user support to enhance system adoption
- Promote digital literacy and improve overall user experience
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and service delivery through digital innovation
- Ensure alignment with institutional strategy and long-term objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Transformation, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience
- 5–7 years’ experience in enterprise digital systems within higher education or a complex organisation
- Proven experience with Ellucian Banner or similar student information systems
- Strong track record in system implementation, integration, and optimisation
- Solid understanding of academic and student lifecycle processes
Skills & Competencies
- Digital systems governance and ownership
- Data governance and reporting (Power BI, SQL desirable)
- System integration and API understanding (RESTful services)
- Strong stakeholder management and change leadership skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Technical Knowledge (Desirable)
- Basic understanding of JavaScript, HTML/CSS
- Familiarity with React.js concepts (state, props, hooks, routing)
- Experience with Node.js, Git, and modern development tools
