The Assistant Digital Marketing Manager plays a key role in supporting the growth, strategy and success of digital marketing initiatives across Reimagine Main Street and its partner publications, including the Observer-Reporter, Herald-Standard and Dominion Post.
This position blends hands-on digital campaign management with team leadership, helping to ensure every client campaign is strategically sound, creatively executed and performance-driven. The ideal candidate is an organized multitasker, problem-solver and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, client-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Client Management
- Partner with the Digital Strategy Director and Reimagine Main Street team to develop and implement marketing strategies that align with client goals.
- Collaborate with multimedia sales consultants to design, present and manage high-impact digital marketing campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, reporting and proactive performance reviews.
- Analyze campaign data to measure success, identify insights and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly performance reports for internal and client meetings.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
- Support the Director in managing day-to-day digital operations, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met across teams.
- Serve as a bridge between sales, design, fulfillment and analytics teams to maintain smooth workflow and communication.
- Mentor and support Digital Marketing Strategists and interns, providing guidance, training and performance feedback, as needed.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners to ensure consistent quality, strategy alignment and fulfillment accuracy.
- Assist in onboarding new hires and training team members on digital platforms, tools and processes, as needed.
Revenue Growth & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to expand digital offerings and increase revenue across all RMS markets.
- Support new business development through research, digital proposal creation and strategy presentations both individually and alongside multimedia sales consultants.
- Promote RMS’s digital expertise through educational content, workshops and community events.
- Represent the brand at networking, community and industry functions as a digital marketing ambassador.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, advertising, community relations or related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of digital strategy across platforms (SEO, PPC, programmatic, email marketing, social media, OTT, etc.).
- Prior leadership, mentoring, or project management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong presentation skills with confidence in client-facing settings.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and analytics/reporting tools.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and evolving with the digital marketing landscape.
