Digital Strategy Editor

We are not looking for Marketing Managers. This a true story telling, writing, creative thinker role that will produce a lot of content for this audience.

BNP Media’s Drilling, Groundwater, and Environmental Remediation Division is seeking a Digital Strategy Editor to lead editorial coverage and digital content strategy for the drilling and environmental remediation industries.

This role is best suited for an experienced B2B journalist or trade editor who has owned an editorial content calendar and managed the full lifecycle of digital stories — from idea and reporting through packaging, publication, and performance analysis.

The editor will be responsible not only for reporting and writing, but also for setting editorial priorities, packaging stories for multiple platforms, and using performance data to guide future coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial Leadership & Content Strategy

  • Own and manage the editorial content calendar, planning coverage across web, newsletters, and multimedia channels.
  • Make editorial judgment calls about which stories to pursue, how they should be packaged, and when they should be published.
  • Identify industry trends and develop news, feature stories, and editorial series.
  • Work with contributors and freelancers while maintaining editorial standards.

Story Packaging & Digital Publishing

  • Lead the full packaging and publication of stories, including headlines, SEO, newsletter placement, social distribution, and multimedia extensions.
  • Ensure major stories are developed into multi-platform coverage (web, newsletter, social, webinar, podcast, video).
  • Manage weekly newsletters and prioritize stories that provide the greatest value to readers.

Data-Driven Editorial Decisions

  • Use analytics tools to evaluate story performance and audience engagement.
  • Monitor metrics across website, newsletters, and social platforms to understand which topics resonate with readers.
  • Use performance insights to adjust editorial strategy and guide future coverage decisions.

Industry Reporting & Engagement

  • Conduct interviews with contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and industry experts.
  • Write and edit daily news, analysis, and feature articles.
  • Host or moderate webinars, podcasts, or video interviews.
  • Represent the brand at industry events and trade shows.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for an editor who has experience leading digital editorial coverage, not just writing articles.

Strong candidates will have:

  • Experience managing an editorial calendar and setting content priorities
  • Experience packaging stories for digital distribution across multiple channels
  • Familiarity with audience analytics and using performance data to guide editorial decisions
  • Strong reporting, interviewing, and storytelling skills
  • Comfort working across articles, newsletters, social media, webinars, podcasts, and video

This role requires someone who can combine traditional journalism skills with digital content strategy and audience growth.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
