Digital Support Technician

Position Summary:

The Digital Support Technician assists the IT and Biomed departments by supporting daily operations, responding to service requests, and providing technical assistance to end users. This role helps maintain hardware, software, and medical technology systems while gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of IT support. Working as part of a collaborative and service-oriented support team, the technician applies strong communication and customer service skills to troubleshoot issues effectively and support smooth technology operations. Attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to responsive service are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide frontline support to end users via phone, email, and in person assistance for IT and Biomed related issues.
  • Assist Biomed staff with service calls to understand operational and functional system needs.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, document resolutions, and escalate complex problems to higher tier support when necessary.
  • Monitor and track high priority issues to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the configuration, maintenance, and basic repair of hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Contribute to departmental workflows, customer service activities, and general IT operations as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • None

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • Sufficient previous Executive Administrative experience.

Special Skills or Training Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, comfortable presenting ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to exhibit a high degree of patience for inexperienced computer/technology users required.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask.
  • Must be self motivated and driven.
  • Ability to problem solve and learn quickly.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in communication and in the office environment.
  • Must be coachable and easily receive feedback.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple tasks/priorities.

Physical Requirements:

Role involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking, including movement between departments to provide support. Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds, bend, kneel, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity when working with hardware.

Environmental Requirements:

Work occurs in office, clinical, and technical environments with exposure to electronic equipment, cables, and occasional noise. May involve entering patient care areas. Must follow safety protocols, maintain clean work practices, and adapt to fastpaced or urgent technical situations.
