Digital Technical Product Manager

Description


The Digital/Technical Product Manager (DTPM) will serve as the balance between the technical and business aspects of the digital products to ensure we are enabling the digital tools and capabilities while continuing to meet the needs of our customers, users, and the business requirements.
The DTPM regularly communicates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders daily. Their ability to effectively develop, present, influence, and communicate business decisions is a crucial job function. The DTPM is tasked with optimizing and improving the existing products and experiences across eCommerce touchpoints and platforms. The DTPM will continuously leverage data-driven problem-solving techniques and analytical insights to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and improve performance.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions


  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Keeps current with new features, functions, and benefits of capabilities.
  • Owns QA Regression Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on Caterpillar digital applications with regular frequency.
  • Leverages digital and technology research, business and market intelligence, and data-driven insights to identify opportunities, propose solutions, influence Caterpillar Digital roadmaps, and improve performance.
  • Partners with Services, Ent Operations, Parts, etc. to understand how equipment management, service, and eCommerce drive value to the business and customers, who should use it and why.
  • Ensures our digital tools connect cleanly across systems, maintaining data quality and support data governance standards.
  • Completes data & reporting on Cat Dealer Insights Hub Dashboard.
  • Reports on product and customer experience performance against established targets.
  • Supports cross-functional collaboration to help bridge the gap between business, technical and Cat Digital goals and objectives.
  • Maintains ownership and management of the Caterpillar eCommerce Configuration Tool (ECT).
  • Supports Global Dealer Standard – Revalidation maintenance and monitoring of digital applications.
  • Monitors Product Management Lifecycle and prioritization of product support/development.
  • Participates in weekly, monthly Caterpillar Digital eCommerce education webinars and training opportunities.
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal abilities that can be insightful to real-time decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Systems Integration experience with ERP systems, digital tools and ecommerce platforms.
  • Works in an environment independently to handle multiple, complex activities in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a proven ability to identify issues and prepare solution(s) that ensure compliance and improvement in performance metrics.
  • Ability to provide risk management insights to leadership.
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology.
  • Proven ability to capture requirements and obtain an understanding of description, scope, and impact of Cat Digital Programs, Deployments, and Digital Platforms.
  • Proven strategic partner to c-suite, divisional and departmental stakeholders both internal and external (Caterpillar and partners).


Requirements


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8 years or more of experience in a related field required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Product Manager Certification preferred.
  • Certified Technical Program Manager (CTPM) preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Travel:
  • 30% Travel – to include a limited amount of overnight travel: HOLT events, Caterpillar sponsored Digital & Marketing Summits, and Industry Conferences.
Physical Requirements:
  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position.
  • Occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
Work Environment:
  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
