Dimensional Controller

Main Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections of fabricated structures, piping, equipment, and modules.
• Verify measurements, coordinates, levels, elevations, and alignments using surveying instruments.
• Read and interpret:
• Engineering drawings
• GA drawings
• Isometric drawings
• Structural drawings
• Survey data
• Use equipment such as:
• Total station
• Theodolite
• Laser tracker
• Auto level
• GPS survey equipment
• Check fit-up and dimensional tolerances before assembly or installation.
• Conduct as-built surveys and prepare dimensional reports.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, engineering, fabrication, and construction teams.
• Identify dimensional deviations and issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.
• Maintain calibration records for survey and measurement instruments.
• Support installation and alignment activities during erection and commissioning.

Key Duties in Industrial Projects

• Structural steel alignment checks
• Piping coordinate verification
• Equipment positioning and leveling
• Module and skid dimensional control
• Offshore jacket dimensional survey
• Tank and vessel dimensional checks

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of dimensional surveying techniques
• Ability to operate total stations and laser equipment
• Understanding of tolerances and fabrication standards
• Good mathematical and coordinate calculation skills
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and survey software
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good reporting/documentation skills

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in:
• Mechanical Engineering

• Experience in industrial construction or fabrication projects
• Surveying certifications may be preferred
