Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Care Professional (DCP) to provide non-medical companion care services to clients in their homes and community settings. This position focuses on emotional support, supervision, and assistance with daily activities to enhance quality of life while promoting independence and dignity.
This role operates under an AHCA Homemaker & Companion Services license and does not include hands-on personal care or medical services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide companionship and social interaction
Supervise clients to ensure safety and well-being
Assist with light household tasks (laundry, light cleaning, meal preparation)
Accompany clients on walks, appointments, and community outings (no client transportation unless approved)
Assist with errands such as grocery shopping or pharmacy visits
Encourage engagement in hobbies, activities, and routines
Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior to the supervisor
Maintain accurate daily service notes and documentation
Follow all agency policies, AHCA regulations, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Experience in companion care, caregiving, or direct support preferred
Must pass Level 2 background screening (AHCA requirement)
Valid ID and authorization to work in the U.S.
Reliable and punctual with strong communication skills
Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor
Ability to follow care plans and agency procedures
What This Role Does NOT Include
No hands-on personal care (bathing, toileting, transfers)
No medication administration
No skilled or medical services
Requirements & Minimum Qualifications
Must successfully pass an AHCA Level II Background Screening
Current CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to client assignment)
High school diploma or GED required
At least 18 years of age
Valid government-issued photo ID and authorization to work in the U.S.
Reliable transportation to client locations
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
Ability to follow agency policies, care guidelines, and documentation requirements
Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
