️ Core Responsibilities
Personal Care Assistance
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
- Support mobility, transfers, and positioning
Medication Support
- Administer medications per MAR (Medication Administration Record)
- Monitor for side effects and report discrepancies
Daily Living Support
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding
- Perform housekeeping and maintain a sanitary environment
- Manage laundry and organize personal belongings
Health Monitoring
- Track vital signs and observe health conditions
- Report changes in behavior, health, or mood
- Document incidents and concerns accurately
Service Documentation
- Maintain Service Delivery Logs
- Complete progress notes and data collection forms
- Ensure compliance with HHSC documentation standards
Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Participate in fire drills and emergency training
- Follow universal precautions and infection control protocols
- Monitor water temperature logs for safety
Community Integration
- Transport clients to appointments, church, or community events
- Support clients in social and recreational activities
- Encourage exercise and engagement in hobbies
Behavioral Support
- Redirect clients during behavioral episodes
- Implement behavior support plans as needed
Childcare/Babysitting (if applicable)
- Provide supervision and care for children in respite settings
- Ensure safe and nurturing environments
Qualifications & Training Requirements
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Completion of background check, TB test, and physical exam
- CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- Orientation on service plans, emergency procedures, and client-specific needs
