Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in Day Treatment facility for Adults, as well as after school for kids. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our members by assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their safety and well-being. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about caregiving and have experience working with people with developmental disabilities, seniors, or those with memory care needs.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities.
- Implement care plans tailored to each members needs while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Support members in social activities and engage them in meaningful conversations to promote mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Utilize EMR systems for accurate documentation of patient care and progress notes.
- Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Employ conflict management techniques when necessary to ensure a harmonious living environment.
- Provide transportation for residents when required, including driving them to appointments or social events.
Qualifications
- Previous experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with caregiving and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and first aid practices is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting residents with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience in case management or behavior management is a plus.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care are essential.
- Have High School Diploma or GED
- Criminal Background and Fingerprint
- Clearance Check
- Valid AZ driver’s license
- Clean 39 month MVR
- Reliable transportation is vital
- Current Certifications (CPR, First Aid, DCW, / Prevention and Support, and Article 9)
