Direct Care Worker

Job Summary
I am seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Care Worker to provide essential support and care for an Army Veteran. I prefer someone who has at least once year of work experience as a Direct Care Worker.

Duties

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, wound care and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
• Provide specialized care for a Veteran with incomplete paraplegia.
• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
• Assist during medical appointments by accompanying me as needed.
• Assist with exercises prescribed by a Physical Therapist.
• .Qualifications
• Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of working with Veterans or a person with a disability.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for transportation duties.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
