Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
Night Shift 7 AM- 7 PM

Duties

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
• Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
• Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer techniques for residents with mobility challenges
• Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and sanitation tasks
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
• Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to implement personalized care plans
• Assist with community outings or activities that enhance social engagement and quality of life

Requirements

• Prior experience working in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care highly desirable
• Valid certifications such as CPR and First Aid required; additional training in HIPAA compliance preferred
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
• Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
• Experience working with residents who have complex medical needs or require specialized care plans is a plus
• Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining flexibility in a dynamic environment

Pay: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour
