Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, to those developmental and intellectual disabilities. In this vital role, you will empower participants to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties

  • Assist participants with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity
  • Monitor participants' health by observing conditions, and reporting changes promptly
  • Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
  • Support participants during meal preparation, cooking, and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration
  • Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning tasks to uphold hygiene standards
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of participant observation techniques and participant monitoring protocols
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; will provide certification if not alrady obtained
  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in caregiving responsibilities
  • Familiarity with medication administration procedures; will provide certification if not already obtained
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, individuals, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities or health challenges
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours

Pay: $12.50 - $17.00 per hour
