Direct Support Professional- (DSP)

DSPs NEEDED: Full-Time, Part-Time, On-Call

Modest Community Services Association, a non-profit organization is currently hiring Direct Support Professionals in all our programs; Residential, Community Hab. and Day Programs. The DSP is responsible for implementing person-centered services for each individual. In addition, the Direct Support Professional is directly responsible for the individual's overall safety and well-being.

Job Descriptions:

• Work with individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities.
• Will help implement & document individualized goals while ensuring a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for individuals served.
• Maintain the physical plant and agency property in a clean and safe manner and communicate any issues to management.
• Comply with all OPWDD regulations and agency policies and procedures.
• Participate in all trainings and in-service trainings provided by the agency; SCIP, AMAP, CPR & First Aid, etc. and demonstrate competency in all required training areas.
• Perform or assist individuals with basic domestic duties such as cleaning, cooking and shopping.
• Coordinate and maintain individuals’ schedule as needed.
• Maintain records and complete paperwork as required by Modest and OPWDD.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of High school or equivalent.
• Must be cleared and maintain acceptable record under the NYS Justice Center and OPWDD mandated criminal background check process.
• A clean and valid NYS driver’s license and needs to remain a qualified driver
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
