Direct Support Professional/ SSP

Now Hiring: Direct Support Professional (DSP/SSP) — Part‑Time Evenings

Location: York / Manchester, PA

A supportive, caring family is seeking a reliable, compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP/SSP) to provide in‑home support to a young woman who is deaf and non‑verbal. This role is a great fit for someone who is calm, dependable, and enjoys meaningful one‑to‑one work.

Schedule (Part‑Time)

• Occasional Friday and weekend evening shifts
• Approximately 15–20 hours per month
• Evening and night availability needed
• No overnight shifts

What You’ll Do

• Support evening routines and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Clean up after dinner
• Provide companionship, supervision, and a safe environment until family returns
• Assist with routine household/at‑home activities as needed

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb stairs
• Comfortable working in a home with two friendly dogs

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Able to pass all required background checks
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with current insurance and registration

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Experience with individuals who are deaf/hard of hearing
• Sign language knowledge is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $17.22 per hour
