Direct Support Staff

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or HSC/GED equivalent

Experience working with children ages 6-17

Experience working with children with behaviors a Plus.

Able to pass a background check and fingerprints.

Able to pass a drug screen.

Duties

-Light housekeeping cleaning such as mopping, sweeping, bedding, laundry, washing dishes, & grocery shopping.

- Pass medications.

- Light cooking and meal preparation such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks.

- Model good mannerisms, encourage general life skills, & encourage proper hygiene.

- Supervise children play.

- Recreational activities with children such as play time at the park, board games, puzzles, sports, art activities, etc.
- Administer medication as directed by medical professionals.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for the individuals in your care.
- Communicate effectively with families and other providers during drop off and pick up.

Requirements:
- Experience in caregiving or related field preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with working in the mental health field a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with children.
- Flexibility in schedule to accommodate.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
