Direct Tax Manager

We are currently partnering with a leading semi government organisation in the UAE to appoint a highly skilled Direct Tax Manager to oversee group-wide direct tax compliance, reporting, governance, and strategic tax initiatives across multiple entities.


This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded tax professional with strong experience in corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and tax process optimisation within a complex group structure.


The role is a 6 month contract but is renewable


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage group tax provisions including current and deferred tax calculations in line
  • with accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Lead quarterly and annual tax reporting processes for consolidation and audit purposes
  • Oversee end-to-end corporate tax return filings across all group entities
  • Coordinate transfer pricing compliance including Master File, Local File, and CbCR documentation
  • Support transfer pricing strategies and review intercompany transactions to mitigate risk
  • Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations and internal governance frameworks
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax changes and assess business impact
  • Lead responses to tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities and external advisors
  • Develop and maintain direct tax risk frameworks, controls, and remediation plans
  • Partner with finance, treasury, CFOs, and business leaders on strategic tax matters
  • Drive process improvements, tax technology implementation, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and SLAs to improve compliance monitoring and operational efficiency


Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong experience in direct tax, corporate tax compliance, and reporting within a large organisation or group structure
  • Solid understanding of transfer pricing regulations and BEPS Pillar 2 requirements
  • Experience managing tax audits, regulatory compliance, and tax risk management
  • Exposure to ERP systems, tax technology tools, and process automation initiatives
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across finance and business functions
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Experience working within multinational or shared services environments is highly preferred
