Job Description:Position Overview:
The Academic Resource Center (ARC), with locations on Massasoit's Brockton and Canton campuses, offers a range of in-person and virtual tutoring and academic support services. Individual and small-group tutoring is available in many subject areas such as mathematics, sciences, computer technology, study strategies, reading, writing, and language acquisition. Massasoit's ARC is certified by the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA).
The Director manages all aspects of the ARC, including staff supervision, systems management, process development, and data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Leads and manages the day-to-day operations of the ARC across all locations and modalities; supervises all full-time, part-time professional, and part-time clerical staff.

Conducts staff meetings and performance evaluations, promotes a culture of exceptional customer service, and facilitates staff professional development and training.

Recruit and hire tutors for science, computers, and accounting and coordinates scheduling for tutors in those disciplines; manages and coordinates eTutoring platform.

Coordinates and facilitates regular in-house professional development activities for tutors in accordance with established CRLA guidelines and in collaboration with other Massasoit tutoring programs.

Develops and maintains collaborations with faculty and staff to promote tutoring to students; promotes ARC services to students and other areas of the college.

Serves as a key escalation point for resolving student issues related to ARC services.

Represents the ARC at Student Services & Enrollment Management events and programs both on-and-off site.

Implements and maintains technology solutions to enhance operations and support department goals and college's strategic plan, in collaboration with Massasoit's Office of Information Technology Services

Prepares and manages the annual operational budget for ARC; participates in writing grant proposals and administers grants, in collaboration with Grants Department.

Maintains professional knowledge and stays current with emerging trends, technology, and best practices in tutoring through professional development and industry engagement.

Ensures departmental operations comply with established standards and best practices; Engages in long-term planning centered on the further development of student support.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:-
Master's degree in field of education, counseling, or related field;

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively increasing professional experience that includes experience(s) working in a higher-education tutoring program;

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a post-secondary setting;

Demonstrated experience planning and conducting trainings in a higher education setting;

Demonstrated experience supervising staff;
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience with EAB Navigate360;

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;

Demonstrated experience managing a budget;
-
Demonstrated experience working in a community college setting;

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
Additional Information:
Position Status: Non-unit Professional, full-time state funded with benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $89,706.00 - $116,616.00 annually
