Position Purpose: The Director, Clearing Systems leads the global Clearing Systems team responsible for supporting StoneX’s mission-critical Clearing (Middle & Back Office) platforms. This role is hands-on and accountable for managing a team of 4–6 full-time employees and, as needed, project-based contractors and consultants. The Director partners closely with stakeholders across Operations, Client Service, Risk, Finance, Compliance, brokerage teams, and Technology, primarily located in Chicago, London, and Singapore.
Responsibilities:
Primary Duties Include:

Oversee the Clearing Systems team’s daily operations, including ticket-based support, project delivery, production support, and the on-call escalation model.

Provide subject matter expertise for Middle & Back Office systems that support StoneX’s clearing and bookkeeping requirements.

Serve as a subject matter expert for StoneX’s current Middle & Back Office platforms, including GMI and the ATEO suite (LISA & TEO).

Manage vendor relationships and service delivery for critical partners (e.g., FIS, ATEO, ION, and hardware/software resellers) in partnership with StoneX’s vendor management function.

Lead, coach, and develop team members, including performance management and growth planning.

Participate in, and when needed lead, troubleshooting and incident management for operational issues (e.g., production outages and vendor/partner incidents).

Join StoneX Technology’s Change Approval Board (CAB) meetings, or delegate facilitation as appropriate.

Contribute to organizational and technical thought leadership as a member of StoneX’s IT Leadership team.
Qualifications:
What you need to land this role:
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including ownership of critical systems and delivery in production environments.

Hands-on expertise with back-office bookkeeping systems for listed derivatives (e.g., FIS GMI or ION XTP).

Proven ability to support and drive enhancements to middle-office post-trade management solutions for listed derivatives (e.g., ATEO products).

Working knowledge of IBM iSeries hardware and software, including operational support and issue resolution.

Strong familiarity with IBM WebSphere MQ and message-based integration patterns across internal and external partners.

Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise-scale process and job orchestration tools, including setting standards and promoting operational discipline.

Deep understanding of financial services—particularly listed derivatives—and the ability to lead effectively in a highly controlled, time-sensitive environment.

Strong technical acumen with the ability to lead teams through implementation, production support, and continuous improvement.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead stakeholder communications and translate technical concepts for business and technology audiences, including during high-severity incidents.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience), with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Hiring Salary Range $150,000 - $180,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.) Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. This compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
