About Emirates Global Aluminium
Emirates Global Aluminium is the world’s biggest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside the oil and gas industry. EGA is an integrated aluminium producer, with operations on four continents from bauxite mining to the production of cast primary aluminium and recycling. EGA employs over 7,000 of these people including more than 1,200 UAE Nationals. EGA operates aluminium smelters in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates, an alumina refinery in Al Taweelah, a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea, a speciality foundry in high strength recycled aluminium in Germany, and a recycling plant in the United States.
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide enterprise-wide leadership for the Corporate & Global Solutions portfolio, setting the strategic direction, governance model, and value realization framework for digital products, platforms, and transformation initiatives across EGA.
Own the portfolio strategy and operating model, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, scalable architecture, secure-by-design practices, disciplined delivery, and measurable business outcomes.
Build and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team (Product, Architecture, Portfolio/PSL, Product Analytics) that delivers differentiated customer and employee experiences while driving efficiency, compliance, and sustainable innovation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Portfolio Strategy & Value Realization
Develop and maintain the enterprise level Corporate & Global Solutions strategy, and multi-year roadmap aligned to EGA’s business priorities, enterprise architecture, and digital transformation goals.
Establish portfolio governance (prioritization, investment gating, benefits tracking) to maximize ROI and ensure continuous value creation.
Set and track portfolio-level KPIs/OKRs (adoption, NPS, cost-to-serve, cycle time, quality, risk posture, value realized) with transparent executive reporting.
Product Leadership & Lifecycle Oversight
Plan end-to-end product lifecycle management across multiple products/platforms—discovery, design, build, run—driving scale, reuse, and interoperability.
Ensure product strategies and backlogs are aligned to business outcomes; remove roadblocks; arbitrate cross-product trade-offs and dependencies.
Oversee release governance (go/no-go), adoption strategies, customer-centric design practices, and iteration based on data-driven insights.
Enterprise Architecture & Technology Alignment
Own functional architecture direction for Corporate & Global Solutions in partnership with IT—standards, patterns, integration strategy, data models, and security controls.
Ensure platforms are resilient, scalable, and maintainable, with modern engineering practices (CI/CD, test automation, observability) and compliant cloud usage.

Govern adherence to cybersecurity policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
Delivery Excellence & Agile Operating Model
Elevate agile portfolio practices across squads/teams (product owners, architects, analysts)—cadence, planning horizons, quality gates, dependency & risk management.
Institutionalize change management, stakeholder communication, and business readiness for all major initiatives.
Drive disciplined execution—on scope, schedule, and budget—using proportionate governance and proven delivery frameworks.
Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership
Build trusted partnerships with business leaders globally/regionally; translate strategy into executable roadmaps; secure investment and sponsorship.
Facilitate executive prioritization and portfolio reviews; align initiatives across functions (HR, Finance, Procurement, HSE, etc.).
Champion customer and employee experience, embedding voice-of-customer and product analytics into decision-making.
People Leadership & Organization Development
Lead, develop, and scale a diverse team (Head of Product, Principal Functional Architect, PSL Manager, Senior Product Analyst, Product Managers/Owners).
Define role clarity, performance expectations, and career pathways; foster a culture of safety, integrity, experimentation, and continuous improvement aligned with EGA values.
Attract and retain digital talent; coach leaders to drive outcomes, collaboration, and cross-functional leverage.
Vendor, Budget & Risk Stewardship
Own portfolio budgets, vendor strategy, and commercial negotiations; ensure delivery to time/quality/cost.
Proactively identify and mitigate portfolio risks/issues; manage escalations; ensure audit readiness and documentation hygiene.
4. AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING:
Strategic & Investment Decisions: Own portfolio prioritization, investment gating, and resource allocation across Corporate & Global Solutions; recommend capital/OPEX plans.
Product & Platform Governance: Approve product strategies, release plans, go/no-go decisions, and cross-product trade-offs; set quality and security thresholds.
Standards & Policy: Approve functional architecture standards, integration patterns, and platform guardrails in alignment with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity.
Commercial & Vendor: Sign-off on vendor selection, contracts/SOWs, and performance management within delegated authority.
People & Organization: Make hiring, performance, succession, and organizational design decisions for the Corporate & Global Solutions team.
Risk & Compliance: Accept/mitigate portfolio risks; ensure adherence to governance, audit, and regulatory requirements; escalate material risks per policy. (Financial authorities as per company board matrix and delegated authority.)
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred (e.g., MBA, Technology Management).
Minimum Experience:
10 - 12 years in digital transformation/product leadership, including multi-product portfolio ownership, enterprise architecture alignment, and agile delivery at scale.
Demonstrated leadership in complex, regulated, multi-cultural environments; metals/mining/industrial sector experience advantageous
Certifications (Preferred)
PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile (Scrum, Kanban) / SAFe Lean Portfolio Management; ITIL; Cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure); Cybersecurity awareness (e.g., ISO 27001).
Job-Specific Skills
Product & Portfolio Leadership: Product strategy, lifecycle management, benefits realization, multi-product dependency orchestration.
Enterprise Architecture & Platforms: Functional architecture, data/integration patterns, cloud-native engineering, CI/CD, observability.
Agile & Change: Scaled agile practices, backlog and release governance, change management, stakeholder engagement.
Data & Insights: Product analytics, KPI/OKR design, financial modeling, market/competitive intelligence; familiarity with Azure, Power BI, Synapse, SQL Server; Python/R exposure beneficial.
Cybersecurity & Compliance: Governance, audit, risk and controls alignment; secure-by-design principles.
Leadership & Communication: Executive influencing, conflict resolution, facilitation, cross-cultural relationship building
Strong understanding of UAE/EGA culture and operating environment; external scanning to anticipate market/technology impacts.
