Director- Data & Analytics

Role description

• 
  Lead Data Strategy & Vision: Define and execute a multi-year data and analytics roadmap aligned

to product and business priorities, prioritize investments and measure outcomes.

• Build & Lead Team: Recruit, mentor and scale a multi-functional team of data scientists, ML

engineers, data engineers, analysts and product managers across India; set org structure, hiring
plans and career frameworks.

• Data Architecture & Engineering: Oversee design and adoption of modern data architectures

(lakehouse, data mesh principles), real-time streaming, data warehousing, orchestration (e.g.,
Airflow/dbt), and transformation patterns.

• Advanced Analytics & Insights: Drive initiatives in predictive modeling, machine learning, and

statistical analysis to uncover trends and opportunities.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product, technology, and business teams to translate

complex data into strategic insights.

• Governance & Compliance: Ensure data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance across

all analytics operations.

• Visualization & Reporting: Develop executive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI

and Tableau to communicate insights effectively.

• Innovation & Optimization: Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to

enhance analytics capabilities.
Skills

• 
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a

related field.

• 15+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence.
• 7+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional analytics teams.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and demonstrated experience delivering data engineering and

ML solutions to production.

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data warehouses/ lakehouses

(Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or equivalents).

• Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka/Kinesis), orchestration (Airflow, dbt), MLOps tooling

and observability/data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Great Expectations or equivalents).

• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic decisions.
• Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent storytelling and presentation skills; ability to translate complex analytics into business

impact.
Other details

• 
  Experience in the fintech or payments industry, especially with transaction-level data.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of data mesh, lakehouse architecture, and federated data models.
• Certifications in data analytics, cloud architecture, or project management (e.g., PMP, AWS

Certified Data Analytics).

• Exposure to global data operations and working with distributed teams.
• Strong storytelling skills to translate data into compelling narratives for business impact.
