About the Office
EAB is responsible for safeguarding Americans’ health, safety, economic security, and data privacy through proactive enforcement and high-impact affirmative litigation. The Branch’s mission is to bring affirmative litigation to enforce federal laws and regulations, enjoin actions that conflict with or violate federal law, obtain declaratory judgments regarding the laws of the United States, and seek monetary penalties where appropriate.
Job Description
The Director carries out significant executive leadership and management responsibilities overseeing the work of the EAB. Major duties include:
Supervising and directing all EAB attorneys, including SES Deputy Directors, and staff who investigate, develop, and litigate civil affirmative and defensive cases referred to DOJ by agency partners involved in protecting consumers. Works closely with case teams and investigators on all aspects of case strategy and planning.
Advises Civil’s Deputy Assistant Attorney General (DAAG), the Assistant Attorney General (AAG), and other DOJ leadership regarding litigation, policy, legislation, and administrative issues within the Branch’s purview.
Works closely with Division leadership and staff to ensure that adequate resources are available to successfully support case teams and new program initiatives.
Represents EAB at Department and interagency committees and task forces, conferences and meetings with consumer and industry groups.
Qualifications

For this position, the following Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs) have been established and should be addressed within the resume application.
MTQ1. Demonstrated significant legal experience and expertise in civil affirmative and defensive litigation related to matters arising under federal statutes that protect consumers’ health, safety, economic security, and identity enforcement.
MTQ2. Demonstrated significant experience in planning and oversight of the activities of a legal organization, including developing legal strategies to be utilized in U.S. courts and providing sound and timely legal counsel at the highest levels.

Salary
$151,661.00 to $228,000.00 Per Year
