Adobe Learning Manager (ALM) is Adobe’s AI-powered, cloud-based learning platform used by global enterprises to deliver personalized, skills-based learning to employees, customers, and partners at scale.
The platform operates at enterprise scale, serving millions of learners with high availability, security, and performance. ALM uses modern cloud architecture, data platforms, and GenAI-driven experiences to move beyond traditional LMS systems and enable continuous upskilling.

Engineering Director
What you’ll do
Lead teams across multiple execution horizons—from AI-first, fail-fast innovation to sustained evolution of a critically important core platform.
Operate in a hands-on leadership model, diving deep where needed to unblock teams and raise the technical bar.
Design and evolve high-scale, low-latency systems that can grow on demand.
Drive R&D-led rethinking of existing architectures, leveraging modern cloud, data, and GenAI technologies.
Define and continuously refine a multi-horizon engineering strategy, grounded in best-in-class software practices and emerging industry shifts.
Partner closely with Product Management to bring AI-powered assistive experiences to life, influencing roadmaps by articulating what is possible now and what’s next.
Foster strong collaboration across engineering teams to maximize reuse, efficiency, and shared ownership.
Hire, develop, and lead high-performing, diverse engineering teams, owning end-to-end delivery and execution.
Build a culture rooted in rigorous engineering practices, customer empathy, and data-driven decision-making.
Manage scope, dependencies, and risk using analytics, judgment, and creative problem solving.
What you need to succeed
Strong technology depth paired with business acumen.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring clarity in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Clear, concise communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with globally distributed teams.
Proven ability to attract, hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent.
Deep understanding of Data structures, Algorithms, Distributed systems, Concurrency, and Data Lakehouse architectures.
Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies and AI-driven product development.
A self-starter mindset with a strong bias toward collaboration and ownership across functions.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
16+ years of experience, including 10+ years building and scaling large, web-based systems.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade SaaS platforms.
Track record of building high-scale transactional systems, data platforms, and GenAI-powered products from the ground up.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity, adapting to evolving priorities, and leading with autonomy and accountability.
Demonstrated ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strategic thinker who can set direction across quarters, years, and longer-term horizons.
Deep commitment to exceptional customer experiences and continuous product improvement.
